Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have lower fees?

Currently my low fee slots are full.  However, In an effort to diversify the field of gender care, at least 10-20% of my mentorship, supervision and consultation for therapists is offered is at a lower fee, which includes group. These slots are reserved for non binary, trans, intersex, BIPOC and disabled clinicians who cannot afford the full fee.

Low Fee in the Bay Area

For LGBT affirming therapists try interns in private practices listed on Gaylesta.org.  For general therapy try in Oakland: Open Counseling.  In Berkeley: Blue Oak Therapy Center, Pacific Center,(LGBT) Women's Therapy Center, The Psychotherapy Institute Community Clinic and The Wright Institute Clinics.  In San Francisco: CIIS Church Street Clinic, Queer Life Space (LGBT) and the Liberation Institute (LGBT).  In Concord try the Rainbow Community Center (LGBT).  Feeling overwhelmed by finding a therapist?  Check out this article.

Do you take insurance?

I take Lyra as well as PPO insurance which allows you to see out-of-network providers.  However, for PPO plans your full fee is due at the time the service and you submit your receipt to your insurance company. You can use a healthcare savings account (HSA/FSA) to pay for sessions which are pre-tax dollars.

What forms of payment can I use?

Typically, when you register as a new client, I prefer you use a debit/credit card stored securely in my practice management system for billing.  That can also be a HSA/FSA card. You can also use Venmo, PayPal, Zelle,  and check/cash.
