Tips to Help You Sleep

  1. Only go to sleep when you are sleepy
  2. Avoid daytime napping
  3. Exercise regularly (but not right before bedtime)
  4. Create a soothing routine before you go to sleep
  5. Take a warm bath or shower before going to bed
  6. Listen to soothing music, pray or meditate before sleeping
  7. Get up at the same time each morning (even on weekends)
  8. Eat a balanced diet and make the evening meal a light one
  9. Avoid alcohol, sweets, caffeine and tobacco before bedtime
  10. Write in a journal or list worries to avoid taking them to bed with you
  11. Make sure you don't have any medical conditions or side effects from medications that are interfering with sleep
