Sexuality
Do people tell you that you have intimacy issues?
Want to love more and fight less?
Tired of seeing the same patterns over and over?

I welcome bi, queer-identified, lesbians, gay men, heterosexuals and poly folks. I specialize in helping you have healthier relationships by starting with your primary relationship, the relationship to your own self.

Starting a relationship can be the perfect time to talk with a therapist about your intimacy issues. One woman came to therapy feeling happy in her 3 month romance but had moments of intense anxiety. Her anxiety caused her to retreat, sometimes showing up late to their weekend dates. After some exploration, we figured out what was going on. She had stopped doing things for herself, like her morning run and getting together with her best friends. She realized she feared her partner would see taking space as a rejection. However, she needed that space to feel more grounded day to day and to feel her own sense of self. We talked about how difficult it can be to say what you need while simultaneously honoring your partner's feelings.

Ending a relationship can be painful, but same sex break-ups can be complicated by heterosexism and homophobia. Read a 2010 article on this topic written by Lisette Lahana Broken Rainbows at eloveagain.com
