Since 1999, using psychodynamic therapy and EMDR techniques, I've been helping clients release and integrate their past. I am committed to providing culturally competent care to clients of color, GLBTI individuals and those exploring their gender or sexuality.
In 1997 I earned my Master's in Social Work at Smith College and a B.A. in Critical Gender Studies and psychology from UC San Diego. I became a licensed psychotherapist on the East Coast in 1999 and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#23663) in California since 2006. I have specialized in clinical work with transgender people and their loved ones since 1999. I am available as a consultant as well as to supervise pre-licensed clinicians.
Welcoming Emily Taplin, ASW #30709, a graduate of the UC Berkeley MSW program to her private practice internship. She is a talented psychotherapist under my direct supervision with hours available for new clients in my Lake Merritt office.
